My name is Mounia Elmezrichi, I joined DCI’s faculty in February 2017. Hola! My name is Leticia Rodriguez and I am a native of the Republic of I earned my BA in Political Science and Spanish with a Minor in East Asian I have always had a passion for music, and I’ve always been a musician. Prior to DC International Public Charter School I was a sixth-grade teacher at Washington Yu ![]() My experience in Education started in 2008, when I joined the founding team of Washington I earned my BA in International Affairs and Spanish from West Virginia University and my Now having spent eight years teaching in public charter schools in DC, I am excited to bring my experience and passion for education and history to DCI! When I'm not at school, you can find me hanging with my dogs, Charlotte and Ruthie! For the last two years, I transitioned to middle school ELA at Digital Pioneers Academy. I was also lucky enough to meet my wife, who was a second grade teacher in the same building. I taught science, social studies, reading, writing, and even provided inclusion support with math. Over the course of my 6 years at KIPP, I had opportunities to teach children as young as 4 and as old as 13. I began my teaching career at KIPP DC as a Capital Teaching Resident at an early childhood school. ![]() Discovering a passion for teaching children, I then decided to enter the classroom to better understand child development and to form relationships with scholars. Immediately after graduating, I entered the museum world as a museum educator. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Master's Degree in Public History. After growing up in rural upstate New York, I made the decision to attend college in the great city of Washington, DC, at American University. ![]()
